Overview

Armies of Exigo is a real-time strategy video game for Microsoft Windows. The game was created by Black Hole Entertainment released in 2004 and distributed by Electronic Arts. One unique aspect of the game is that it has an underground mode. This makes the game more challenging as the player has to work on two fronts and might have an army come from an unexpected area.

It is simply one of the best handling RTS games that I’ve ever played, and I played just about all of them.

One good thing is that players will face little to no slow down even with a huge battle going on in the middle of the screen. Graphics: 8.9 Armies of Exigo is really a gorgeous game! Everything is dripping with details, including all of the different buildings and units. Sound: 8.7 The music for this game is pretty good and it sets the mood before you go into battle.

With great looks, a clever multi-layer mechanic, and well devised sides, one wonders why Electronic Arts would release a game this good at a time this bad.

The most disappointing thing about Exigo is that the gameplay just isn’t all that exiting. Everything looks nice and is well-balanced, but there’s little here that hasn’t been done before. Excluding the underground part of the game, there’s almost nothing.
