Shoot em’ Up fans will love it, and I have a feeling newcomers to the genre will be drawn in by its stylish looks and awesome soundtrack. Whack it on and take it for a spin – Bit.Trip Fate is another cracker. SUPERB.

While stage design feels a bit bland, BIT.TRIP FATE makes up for this with extremely enjoyable and satisfying gameplay.

It’s a light, 2D arcade shooter that’s great for killing some time if you’re waiting for your wife to get ready, but if you’re looking for immersive gameplay and a deeper level of engagement, or beautiful, eye-catching graphics, you’ll be better off looking somewhere else. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was a letdown since I pretty much knew what to expect.

BIT.TRIP FATE is a twin-stick rail shooter that is somewhat bullet hell-esque as well. Using the right stick, players move the Commander along the fixed line, protecting his precious heart from getting hit, all while continuously shooting enemies and obstacles with the left stick. While shooting you’ll move slower on the track, and likewise if you’re not shooting you’ll move much faster.
