Pick up the first season pass before you take a gander at the second.

All we’ve ended up with in Borderlands 3: Designer’s Cut however is just one new map and one new skill tree for each of the four playable characters, so we’re not sure how much this DLC will add for the average player. Rocket Chainsaw reviewed Borderlands 3: Designer’s Cut on Windows PC via Steam in 2k60 using review code provided by the publisher.

If Arms Race is updated and improved, then I could see it being worthwhile, but if this is all it has to offer, then Designer's Cut feels like something that should have been a free update rather than an integral part of a new season pass. A PC copy of Borderlands 3: Designer's Cut was provided to TheGamer for this review.

Despite the addition of the new skill trees, Borderlands 3 Season 2 pass is off to a very rocky start. Arms Race is feels like it needs much more time to evolve into something more substantial, and despite the skill trees being welcomed, I would rather see a brand new character being added for the price Gearbox asks for.. As a free update the Designer’s Cut would have been a nice addition to the game, but at the full price of $14.99 for the Designer’s Cut and $29.99 for the season 2 pass, I can’t currently recommend either to anyone besides hardcore Borderlands loyalist. Writer for Darkstation since 2014.
