Double Kick Heroes is exactly what we need right now, especially in the absence of gigs. It’s unabashedly funny, has some of the finest rhythm gaming going… and that soundtrack is heavy metal heaven. Prepare those thumbs and get some headphones, as before you know it you’ll be tapping your feet and banging your head to the beat in no time. 9/10 Double Kick Heroes is available now on PC, August 13th for Nintendo Switch (reviewed on Switch Lite).

A unique rhythm based shoot-em-up game with a killer heavy metal soundtrack, detailed pixel characters and environments with tons of personality.

Double Kick Heroes has players fighting to survive the apocalypse with the power of rock by combing two classic genres. Battling the forces of the apocalypse with your musical skills, what more could a rock star ask for. Disclaimer: Evolve PR provided the game used for this review. It has a thumping and varied soundtrack, an eye-catching visual style, and a impressive range of play modes. The set up is simple.
