Overview

Escape Plan™ takes advantage of the PlayStation®Vita system's multi-touch display, rear touch panel, swipe interfaces and motion sensor, putting the fate of the hapless heroes in the palm of your hand. Players can swipe, squeeze, poke and slap Lil and Laarg to manipulate the characters and interact with the diverse environments. Only you can help them survive each deadly room before their captor and nemesis, Bakuki, recycles them and turns them into his minions... or sheep.

Escape Plan absolutely reeks of nonsense and humor, which is exactly what you'd expect from a team partially comprised of the squad that brought PlayStation Network gamers Fat Princess. Appropriately priced for PS4 (and completely free-of-charge if you already own it on Vita, with a separate Trophy list to boot), Escape Plan is a worthy purchase, especially if you're looking for a pick-up-and-play game that can be digested very slowly, one morsel at a time.

Escape Plan has broken free of the shackles of the Vita and tunnelled onto the PS4 with a surprising degree of success. The touch controls are mostly gone, but the button prompts that replace them result in a more precise and less frustrating experience.

At its core, Escape Plan is a mostly good puzzle game. There's a good build-up from easy to hard puzzles, and the tougher ones are truly devilish to figure out.

Escape Plan’s memorable puzzles are wrapped up in a unique presentation, but once you finish the 3 hour campaign there's not much of a reason to comeback. Sure there a few collectibles scattered throughout the stages, a challenge mode, and you can always try to improve your score to net a 3-star rating, but there's no tangible reward for doing so.
