You will even go on a global scoreboard for all the competitive types out there, and to add a little extra spice, if you can achieve S Rank on all stages in Final Fantasy mode, you will unlock a secret stage with a secret boss, so good luck. With the launch of ‘The Rising Tide,’ patch 1.31 was released with some cool new additions, and I’ll list some of my favourites.

Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide is an excellent addition to an already great story that fits seamlessly into the world of Final Fantasy XVI. Clive’s latest quest is challenging but rewarding, and it allows him to grow more as a character as he continues serving the people around him. Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide is available now on PlayStation 5. The Rising Tide is a fantastic piece of content that builds upon the brilliance of Final Fantasy XVI perfectly. With its engaging storytelling, gorgeous landscapes, thrilling battles, and additional challenge with the Kairos Gate, there’s plenty to get stuck into to ensure it stands out as a worthwhile expansion to the tale of Final Fantasy XVI. And come on… who doesn’t want to use Leviathan’s abilities in combat?

The Rising Tide may not offer anything new or novel to Final Fantasy XVI, but it does continue its streak of incredibly polished and fun gameplay. The story is a nice cherry on top of the main adventure, and the Karios Gate mode will keep you coming back for more.

A short but well written story, a new game mode and some updates to Clive's abilities. The Rising Tide caps off an amazing pair of DLC stories that leaves me wanting so much more. 4.3 Bloody Palace! While The Rising Tide stumbles with its explorable scope and characterization for select individuals, its combat highs are standout. Fans of the base game and the first DLC should definitely pick this up if they haven’t already. Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide (PS5) While The Rising Tide DLC offers a robust gameplay experience with its challenging combat and new features, it does not fully deliver on its narrative potential, particularly in terms of character involvement and story depth.
