Giana Sisters: Dream Runners is the ideal party game, but falls short of being a must have offering nothing more than a watered down version of a number of genres.

While it's not impossible to glean some enjoyment from Giana Sisters: Dream Runners, it's entirely reliant on meeting a specific set of circumstances to do so. As a single-player experience, it lacks soul, feels somewhat hollow and looks like it was cobbled together from the leftovers of the previous game, Twisted Dreams.

The clunky controls, combined with a ghost town of players to actually play this game online with, really works against this title. There is also a less than ideal camera view issue that pans out at the worst moments, making obstacles, players, traps, etc.

Giana Sisters: Dream Runners is not a good game. There are many missteps in the mechanics and the overall feel of the game.

While the concept sounds like fun, nothing works how you think and it ultimately turns into an unenjoyable experience. I really cannot recommend this one on any level.

Its dated looks, slippery controls, and occasional bugs don’t exactly help, but the lack of originality compared to both Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Speedrunners just highlight the problems with this copy and paste effort. Go play Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams instead of this.
