Various factors resulted in things making it so that fans can no longer easily play Lollipop Chainsaw, and it has been some time since players have not been able to access the game on current consoles. We, the original development staff on Lollipop Chainsaw, think of the game as very precious to us, and did not want to leave it in limbo, where players who want to play it cannot. As such, we purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property from Kadokawa Games, and decided to develop a remake. One thing that we have to tell fans of the original game is that even though the original staff are working on the remake, there will be elements that are different from the original. Additionally, since we have access to consoles with higher specifications, we will be taking a more realistic approach to the graphics this time. In any case, our goal is to make it easier for gamers who want to play Lollipop Chainsaw to do so.

Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP is a vibrant, bloody, and sexy hack-and-slash game that is nothing short of a ton of fun. A few disappointing story moments and clunky gameplay moments aside, it’s a great adventure that feels rewarding and addictive at the same time.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a spectacular enhanced port of the PS3 cult hit. It retains the all-star voice acting that made it one of, if not the best, Suda51 project. It kept the stupid silliness and crazy energy that made me a diehard defender intact. Dragami Games did an admirable job at reproducing the OST, too, and have a few bangers on the setlist. I would’ve preferred a remake, especially because the detailed areas and robust Juliet model is a contrast to the mediocre NPCs. I couldn’t help but think that was the point of pivoting.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP brings the beloved 2012 zombie-slaying classic back with smoother combat and new content. Protagonist Juliet Starling’s journey mixes humor and action, though the game’s pacing is slowed by overly long stages and gimmicky minigames. While boss fights underwhelm, the satisfying upgrade system and campy charm make it worth revisiting. The remake introduces quality-of-life improvements and additional cosmetic options for players to enjoy.
