The Forgotten Kingdom is yet another stellar piece of DLC for Remnant II. Its self-contained approach doesn’t detract for those jumping in mid-campaign, with plenty of new loot to then take back into the main game. The story is forgettable, but there won’t be many players who play the Remnant games for the story.

Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom remains a worthy addition to the main game and a solid, if less exciting, successor to the Awakened King.

In conclusion, The Forgotten Kingdom is a pleasing crafted expansion that breathes new life into the world of Remnant 2. With its solid lore, engaging gameplay, new items to collect, and low price of 9.99 USD, it stands as a shining example of what DLC should strive to be in modern gaming.

While yet another return to Yaesha is slightly disappointing, everything else about The Forgotten Kingdom is a must-have for Remnant 2 players. The enemies, weapons, bosses, and the new Archetype are all up to the base game’s overall excellence. Especially at a very reasonable price, it’s easy to recommend The Forgotten Kingdom.

I never thought we'd return to a time when we got so much from a $10 DLC, but here we are. Not only does The Forgotten King deliver what fans have come to expect, but it's a terrific entry point for newcomers as well. Pros - + The Invoker invokes power - + New items to endlessly tweak builds - + Fun and imaginative weapon additions - + Some clever boss designs Cons - - The story isn't what it could have been. - - The scale feels smaller than that of The Awakened King. Remnant 2 was a massive summer hit of 2023, topping out at over 110,000 players on Steam.

Remnant II: The Forgotten Kingdom worked for me because it’s more than a rehash. Between the standalone story for the jungle realm of Yaesha and a good chunk of new booms and buffs for the more mechanically-inclined, this expansion is certainly full of good reasons to return to these realms. Score: 7.5 out of 10 Disclosures: This game is developed by Gunfire Games and published by Gearbox Publishing.
