With perfectly crafted levels and an awesome electronic soundtrack, Vandals proves to be a great entry into the turn-based stealth genre. In many ways, it captures the sensation of what painting at night feels like.

Vandals meshes the Square Enix GO series and Marc Eckō’s Getting Up in a refreshing way with a nostalgic twist. What it does is simple, but very effective. It’s also priced just right. The execution of Vandals is like exploring an art museum with interactivity set against a jazz soundtrack. Vandals is worth the price of admission on so many levels.

The saddest part about Vandals is that it’s over too soon — I’d estimate the average running time to be a little over two hours. With how short the levels are, 60 doesn’t feel like enough. That said, given the fact that Vandals is also available on mobile devices, it’d make for a great time-killer during a commute or break at work. While my life of victimless crime was short but well-lived, the elusive three-star ratings will almost certainly have me coming back to perfect the artform of making graffiti between run-ins with police officers. While I did wish the controls were better, I did like the puzzles a whole lot. The puzzles make it fun to constantly sneak back and forth, and inch closer to the end of each stage effectively.

This game is a port from the mobile device market and brought to the Switch with a decent amount of content and plenty of challenges to keep you busy for a good amount of time. While adding an expanded set of controls to use with your TV is a great idea, I found that it was more frustrating than fun. That aside, Vandals is fun and worth the $3.99 price tag. Review: Vandals (Nintendo Switch) Good This game is a port from the mobile device market and brought to the Switch with a decent amount of content and plenty of challenges to keep you busy for a good amount of time.
