Vindictus
Vindictus is an action MMORPG and a prequel to the popular MMORPG Mabinogi and is known as Mabinogi Heroes in Asia. Vindictus takes place in the same setting used in Mabinogi, but is placed chronologically several hundred years prior to the first game during a period of war and strife. Vindictus follows Nexon's traditional free-to-play model. The game itself is free to download and play and charges no purchase price. The game contains a virtual item shop to purchase in-game items with Nexon's virtual currency called NX to enhance the player's character's appearance and abilities. Also, the game has only several, pre-made, gender-locked characters representing the different classes. The game doesn't have a big persistent world, instead, it is instance based.

Vindictus is truly a huge advancement in free-to-play MMOs. You’ll still find a shop for purchasing or even renting outlandish outfits for real cash, but without the cut-rate gameplay and outdated graphics that most titles offer in exchange.

Your long-term attachment to the game will also be determined by how much of an experience grind you're prepared to undertake (combined with your attitude towards impermanent purchases), and whether the hack-and-slash combat against somewhat repetitive character models is a meaty enough adventure to keep you satisfied. As an immediately accessible offering though, Monster Hunter fans - or would-be fans un-tempted by that game's more thoughtful combat mechanics - are encouraged to explore those limits for themselves.
