Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is a fun game for a while. It’s maybe a game you would play in short bursts, as I did. I did like the battles in the game. However, the storyline got a little tedious after a while. Nevertheless, you will likely find what you want if this is your go-to game genre.

Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent’s storytelling might not be exceptional but it’s hard to find deep fault any of the game’s other attributes. Art is eye-catching and alluring, while traditional instrumentation offers a treat for the ears. But the most remarkable element is the game’s RTS-style battles, which offer an appreciated break from the norm.

Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent is a lighthearted mix between strategy RPG and anime inspired visual novel by Acquire, the team that co-developed Octopath Traveler. I think the single greatest aspect of this game is the entire high school aspect.

Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent has a few interesting ideas, but its thin storyline, rollercoaster difficulty, and restricted gameplay mechanics are not enough to keep players entertained for long.

The game isn’t terrible, but it’s a bit forgettable. It comes out on the right side wherein you can have some fun with it, especially if you really like strategy games, but it doesn’t really feel like it works very hard to do more than just be good enough. If you’re in the mood for a strategy game but don’t want quite so much strategy, it’ll fill you up, but it’s not going to delight you in the process. ~ Final Score: 6/10 ~ Review copy provided by PQube for Switch.

Can you have some fun with Adventure Academia? Sure. It’s not that there isn’t anything here to like. But it gels together so badly and is such a troublesome game to play that I really can’t recommend it. I’m happy to see Class of Heroes is still alive in some form, but I hope the next time it pops its head up we get something better than this. SwitchArcade Score: 2.5/5 New Releases GyroBlade ($4.99) This is a little indie homage to Toaplan shooters, most of all Tiger Heli.

If Adventure Academia had understood the assignment, the story would have been a little more exciting, and the systems wouldn’t be so disjointed. This post may contain Amazon affiliate links.
