"Bubsy the Woolies Strike Back! is an all new Bubsy adventure featuring Bubsy in a bevy of exotic locations as he travels the planet looking for the beloved Golden Fleece. Bubsy must use all of his classic moves and a few new ones to dodge and out bobcat a battalion of Woolies, not mention the gnarliest UFO bosses to ever grace a Bubsy adventure. The wisecracking lynx also adds over a 100 new one liners to his lexicon to keep fans guessing what he’ll say next."

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back may not be perfect, but it’s easily the best Bubsy game ever made. As a side-scrolling platformer, it’s a rock-solid entry in the genre.

Bubsy is a cat-out-of-time trying to find his fit in a world that’s memories of him haven’t been too endearing. Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is a moderately enjoyable game, but it just out of place within it’s current price bracket. Aside from the price, there are moments where Bubsy’s commentary feels rather forced (occasionally annoying), but other times he delivers one-liners that made me chuckle. It feels like Bubsy is trying too hard to be Deadpool-esque in relevancy and self-awareness. So, should you give the bobcat a shot? If you like classic platformers with collectables or you have fond memories of the original, I think so… but I would wait for a sale.

With an awkward difficulty curve and some questionable sonic choices, this isn’t a purrfect platformer, but it’s certainly good enough for meow. I’m not kitten around when I say this is a competent platformer that deserves a look in if you can get it fur a decent price.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back underwhelms and disappoints at every turn. Bland level design never improves, and tedious boss battles are unrewarding and unsatisfying. Bubsy's return 21 years later could have reminded us why he was once considered a potential peer to the likes of Mario and Sonic. Instead, The Woolies Strike Back only serves to remind us why the mascot hasn't seen a new adventure in over two decades.

Bubsy as a character has very little to offer and the gameplay – despite looking nice – is repetitive. Exploring stages to find hidden areas is really the only significantly enjoyable part of the game, with boss battles feeling repetitive and each stage feeling much like the last.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back has a degree of retro appeal and may even stir up fond memories if you were around for Bubsy’s first outing. But it’s so unremarkable that it never really manages to get its claws into you.
