CRITIK
Constructor sets players as budding property tycoons, who must take on their rivals in the creation of a successful city. This doesn’t just involve the speedy building of homes and businesses, however; players must negotiate the tangled web of Undesirables, a motley collection of reprobates that can be used against them – and by them, against others.

You’ll think I’m mad, but Constructor does start off as a rather enjoyable experience; plodding away, building little communities, experimenting with the Undesirables. It could be a great game, but then it swiftly all goes downhill. Repetitive scenarios throughout the campaign which cause far too much hassle, different end-game options which barely change anything and losing everything for simply not adhering to a pointless council task, all add to the frustration.

Constructor HD was actually delayed multiple times, so System 3 presumably encountered some difficulties in development. Whether that is the explanation for the result, which just barely toes the line of average but gets pulled back down by its price and its launch day DLC, or if it was a bit of a cash grab is anyone’s guess. As it is, this is not worth purchasing.
