Have a burning desire to change the way you play golf? Then here’s a smashing way to lower your handicap. Mixing arcade styling with humorous irreverence, Dangerous Golf’s aim isn’t for the likes of a Par or Birdie – but to cause maximum damage over 100 holes and four rather… unusual locations.

You're not going to find every feature you've ever wanted packed into Dangerous Golf, but what you will find is a title that nails its core gameplay concept. It lies somewhere between precision and randomness – a place where, not accidentally, a charming heart resides.

With over a 100 courses across four locations, Dangerous Golf is a bombastic romp well worth its asking price. It might not have the feature set of bigger releases or their sense of scale but laying waste to a Hall of Mirrors in a French mansion never gets old. Pros: - Easy to pick up and play - Glorious destruction - Surprisingly addictive Cons: Rating (out of 10): 8 We played a review copy of Dangerous Golf on the Xbox One.

Dangerous Golf‘s greatest benefit is how little it has to do with golf, providing an immensely fun game that will remind you have Burnout 3 while a smile stretches across your face the entire time. Dangerous Golf isn’t a mindless game by any means, but you don’t have to do too much thinking that gets in the way of having a great time.

As Dangerous Golf begins to build on its core mechanics – causing as much damage and mayhem as you can before putting the ball in a hole to bank your score – it continues to deliver a fresh take on the concept. Leaving sticky bombs behind you as you propel the ball from wall to wall for instance, or multi-hole speed rounds that demand a little precision as well as quick strategic thinking about the order you should work in.

As it stands however, there’s still a genuinely high amount of enjoyment to be had, but frustration will likely soon mount for most players once they reach the hazard levels and putting challenges. If you miss Burnout‘s Crash Junction mode though, and are looking for something that doesn’t take itself too seriously, Three Fields’ debut into the independent game market is still an impressive attempt that warrants your attention.
