The highest compliment we can give EA's portrayal of JK Rowling's magic-infused faux sport is that it's so much fun (for fans and nonfans alike) that it makes us wish Quidditch were actually real. For those who have yet to indulge in the pop-lit phenomenon that is Harry Potter, the game of Quidditch can be best described as lacrosse on broomsticks—a fast-paced game of possession that relies heavily on accurate passing and coordinated teamwork.

One part hockey, one part soccer and one part pure fantasy, Quidditch World Cup may not have the draw or the depth of Madden, but it is still plenty of fun to play. The game of Quidditch is played on a standard rectangular field, much like a game of football, only no one ever touches the field itself - instead of running, all the players fly above the field on magical broomsticks.

For Harry Potter enthusiasts, EA did a semi-decent job at creating an imaginary sport. I'll admit it; I'm a Harry Potter fan.
