If you’re into both MOBAs and deck-builders, then you likely won’t find a better game suited for you than HEROish. It offers a great mix of both genres while still managing to be its own thing. While there’s not a wide range of varying content, it’s guaranteed to provide hours of fun whether you want to play alone or battle opponents in true MOBA fashion. Our HEROish review was written based on the PC version of the game.

Mixing together a few different styles of strategic play, HEROish is at least quite unique on Switch As a big proponent for games that try to do new things I’ve got to admit the strategy gamer in me likes the mix of styles HEROish brings to the table.

HEROish is a fun MOBA-deck-building adventure. While it does have quite a bit of mobile personality to it, including a short gameplay time, it is still entertaining in its simple strategy and action execution.

HEROish really hedges its bets on the replayability of its campaigns and its bite-sized matches. At its core, I think it works best as an on-the-go game rather than one on your big TV screen. You probably won’t spend consecutive hours playing HEROish, but it works as a good in-between when you’re bored. But in a world where games demand way too much from the player, short and fun games leave me a happy man.

HEROish is a fun take on the MOBA and card-based combat genres. My expectations were low, given that I had first heard about this as a mobile release; however, I was pleasantly surprised with its charming and cartoony combat and deeper-than-anticipated gameplay, sinking more hours than I thought. My only gripe is that the campaign is short, and the multiplayer gets repetitive very quickly. It has so much potential to be a great game that many would return to it daily.

"HEROish" is a simple, yet engaging and wildly addicting card-battling MOBA-lite. And luckily for fans of the genre, it's quick and easy to pick up and hard to put down. The multi-platform release brings with it everything from the Apple Arcade version, as well as 18 new cards (along with dozens of reworked ones) and a new "Brutal" campaign difficulty.
