While approachable for tacticians of just about any skill level, the pacing and a sense of blandness hold it back Though tactical strategy games may be a bit of a niche subgenre, the Switch has been blessed with quite a lot of them, and each have generally added their own bit of flavor to the pot.

Live By The Sword: Tactics has a lot going on in terms of variety of modes, but I fear that it falls short in a couple of areas, the most important being advancement, carrying your characters through test and trial and mastering the bow and the sword to greater levels.

Even then, it seems enjoying it with a friend where you can feel more free to experience would lead to a more optimal environment. Other than that, Live by the Sword: Tactics is better off to be skipped. Live by the Sword: Tactics was reviewed on PC using a copy provided by Gravity Game Arise.
