It’s not going to make anyone forget about the existence of Pokémon Snap, but it certainly does enough to justify picking it up.

If you enjoy Pokemon Snap and Amanita Design games, Penko Park feels like a lovely blend of both with its own unique charm that will keep you coming back for more as you inch towards 100% completion. While it may seem repetitive on paper at first, the developers have done a great job of throwing unlocks at you as you explore the different locations trying to grab secrets, photograph the eclectic creatures in different positions, and fill up your guidebook. -Mikhail Madnani SwitchArcade Score: 4.5/5 OneShot: World Machine Edition ($14.99) What a unique little adventure game this is.

Penko Park is a first-person exploration title focused on taking pictures of creatures that inhabit an abandoned wildlife park. I had never played a game like this one before so I was both curious and excited to see how my first experience in the genre panned out. If you are as curious as I was, look at this Rapid Review. When I began the title, I was instructed to document as many findings as I could in a decrepit wildlife park.

While not the most complex game in the world, Penko Park is an adorable ride through a creepy little zoo of the cutest little creatures and a relaxing time for a casual experience.

Penko Park plays mechanically better than others in its genre and is a strange blend of the cute and unsettling. It’s a little bit on the short side, but there’s never a dull moment when you’re taking snaps of all the weird and wonderful wildlife. Penko Park is out now on Switch (review platform) and PC (Steam) Developer: Ghostbutter Publisher: Secret Mode Disclaimer: In order to complete this review, we were provided with a promotional code from the publisher.

Penko Park is a real joy. Although its simplicity may leave those after a more complex experience wanting more, it's an enjoyable photography game with a great setting. And above all else, its various creatures will keep players coming back for more. Penko Park is out now for PC and Nintendo Switch.

Penko Park was considered something of a hidden gem on the PC. I don’t know how it’s going to perform commercially on the Switch, but as a game concept, it’s much more at home on Nintendo’s handheld. Its biggest strength – the incredible creativity of the monsters that you’ll be taking photos of – really does make it worth your time, even if the game really could have done with finding an identity of its own and distinct from Pokémon Snap.
