Top-down zombie shooting that’s satisfying only to a point, but it offers a decent few hours As a huge fan of twin-stick shooters I’m always down for something in that vein, and certainly an offer to throw zombies and some bloodshed to the mix is just fine by me as well.

Now, I’m not going to say this is a must-have, and there are better twin-stick shooters on the Switch to be sure. But for your eight bucks, you get a rather robust bit of B-movie (maybe D-movie) action with decent atmosphere and solid shooting gameplay. It can be a little grindy if you want to upgrade everything, but with added modes (including a very enjoyable local co-op mode for up to four players) and interesting environments to explore, even the act of grinding isn’t so bad. I had a better time with Splatter – Zombiecalypse Now than I was expecting to, and that’s always a lovely surprise. SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5 New Releases Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief ($39.99) Once upon a time, developer Acquire had a knack for making unique games steeped in Japanese culture.

Splatter – Zombiecalypse Now is a wild, over-the-top, trigger-happy shooter where your ZR button will be worn out if you stick with it for more than a few levels – and well done if you do! Don’t get me wrong, the visuals are gory and chaotic, but they clash with the dark, gritty setting and zoomed out top-down view, resulting in a pretty messy and ‘gets old pretty quickly’ experience.

It's tough to recommend Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now, especially seeing as there are dozens of much better twin-stick zombie shooters.Splatter - Zombiecalypse Now gameplay video → A Frog's Job Review PlayStation 5 ★★★☆☆ There aren't many 2D platformers fit for Halloween fun but here's A Frog's Job where you play as a frog Grim Reaper with cool abilities. A Frog's Job is one of those 2D platformers where you master each short level by simply reaching its goal; in this game, it's a frog ghost that you must reap.
