You know that you’re onto a winner when a game gets under your skin. Ravegan has successfully created that “just one more try” title that keeps you playing for hours. The simplicity of the premise, combined with the complexity of the game mechanics and approach, makes this a very addictive title to play. With an amazing combination of looks and sounds, easy and responsive controls and humour laced gameplay, it’s a modern day classic in the making. Do I recommend it? Yes, yes, yes! So buy it here! Can you help the 3 creatures take down the invaders and reclaim their homelands? Buy a copy, pick your favourite creature, and banish your red enemies for good!

t’s so unfortunate that so much of Teratopia between the boss fights feels like monotonous, repetitive filler. The platforming is basic, the combat often feels like just mashing X and the frame rate can occasionally tank which makes it uncomfortable to play. There was certainly potential hidden in this game but it falls short of being realised. A series of challenging, varied boss battles are the saving graces for Teratopia, an action adventure game that’s repetitive and uninspired far too often. Teratopia is available now on Xbox One (review platform), PS4, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. Teratopia‘s biggest flaw is that it doesn’t know what kind of game it wanted to be. It has beyond basic controls, but it’s too hard for children to play. It looks like an adorable kid’s game and has lots of silly humor, but then there are random moments of adult level jokes and references. I’m honestly not sure who this game is meant for. Let’s just save us all some trouble and say it’s not enjoyable for anyone.

Teratopia struggles with basic gameplay design from combat to platforming. For an action-adventure platformer, that’s always a bad sign. On its surface, Teratopia looks cute and charming, but the surface is where this new title from Eastasiasoft resides.
