Over 100 fish and fishing spots all over the world, you will enjoy the view of some of the most beautiful spots on this planet to cast your line. From all over the US to Italy, Netherlands and much, much more. In order to see these spots, you will need to complete missions and rank up in EXP. I also mentioned above that you'll need to buy licenses for all spots that you visit. It will cost in game currency, make sure to keep up with selling your fish at the end of the day. There are numerous types of setups for different types of fishing.

Overall, once you get used to the nuances of the user interface, and managing your money, Fishing Planet is the best fishing simulation game out there. It has an extensive collection of fishing equipment, species of fish, and locations. The steep learning curve can be a deterrent, but fishing is all about having patience and fortitude.Note: The Fisherman: Fishing Planet was reviewed on PlayStation 4.

It’s safe to say that The Fisherman – Fishing Planet is the best fishing game available on console. It packs in so much content that you could play it for tens of hours and still find enjoyment in going back for more. It’s mechanically sound, too, making the act of fishing engaging yet not overly complicated or gamey. If you’re a PC gamer who has already invested money into Fishing Planet, however, the new content on offer probably isn’t worth splashing the cash required for this complete edition.

For those seasoned anglers, you’ll appreciate just how much detail went into the over 1000 items, nearly 150 fish, numerous fishing holes and detailed gameplay. While I may be a fishing beginner, I really appreciated just how in-depth The Fisherman: Fishing Planet really was while also never feeling too overwhelmed with its steady mission structure or the option to freely do whatever I want and still progress. If you’ve been curious about the sport, or simply can’t wait until next summer to do the real thing, The Fisherman: Fishing Planet has more than enough content to keep you busy until the next fishing season begins.

Overall the game is relaxing I ended up falling asleep from the sounds of nature coming from the game twice. I had fun with this game after getting used to it and will defiantly come back to play more when I need a break from all the violent games out there. A downside to this game is it requires an internet connection. The Fisherman is one of the best fishing sims on the market today but may not be for casual fisherman looking for an arcade fishing game.

If you want a fishing game then Fishing Sim World is still the daddy, however if you want to try something different, then The Fisherman – Fishing Planet just might scratch that itch.
