Overview

Zombie Army Trilogy is a third-person tactical shooter stealth video game developed and published by Rebellion Developments. It is a spin-off to the Sniper Elite series, released on March 6, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While the game is undoubtedly starting to show its age, Rebellion has done an excellent job of bringing this cult classic to the Switch while sacrificing surprisingly little in the process. With a lengthy campaign, addicting horde mode, and some of the best cooperative gameplay you can find on the Switch, it’s a gleefully gory shooter that no fans of the genre should pass up. And Thanks to the addition of remote play, it just might be my favorite way to experience the saga.

Zombie Army Trilogy perfectly combines three Nazi-filled chapters into one satanic package. Follow the exciting story from beginning to end(?) as you stand up against Hitler and his horrific hordes of nasty Nazis, determined to deliver every single one of them back to Hell. Whether you wish to take on this journey alone or with up to three friends/strangers, you’ll be constantly on the edge of your seat as you never know where the enemy will come from next. The Switch edition also introduces motion controls which greatly enhances the overall control you have over your character when engaged in intense combat – seriously, every game with a gun should have this option.

If you’ve never played Zombie Army Trilogy before and are wanting to pop some undead skulls, you should seriously consider picking this up. Especially if you have like-minded friends to play it with. Hell, even those who have already played it before might get some kicks out of it too. Let’s face it, how often do you get to shoot a zombified Hitler in the face while sitting on the loo? This is a great game, not compromised in any way, now playable absolutely anywhere. There’s little better than that. Zombie Army Trilogy is available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

Zombie Army Trilogy is a simple game that is a blast to play, at least online with friends. Outside of Evolve, this is the only other game I can think of that makes you play as a team to help complete sections of the game.

Zombie Army Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch is a good fit ultimately. No, this is not the most complex or revolutionary one on the market. At its core, in fact, it is very much a linear action title that wears its heart on its sleeve. There is plenty of bombastic action and very little substance. That is not a criticism, however. This is a game that knows what it is, and does it well. It is definitely a downgrade graphically, and it takes until the third chapter to really hit its stride in terms of complexity. However, the experience comes into its own as a co-op adventure with friends, and there is certainly an awfully lot of fun to be had here.
