Just like actual Japanese food, inbento goes down an absolute treat. With its beautiful aesthetic, touching story and deviously challenging puzzles, there’s something for everyone to appreciate. The game is perfect in both bite-sized chunks and extended sessions, and the gameplay is designed to be challenging but not overwhelming. If you’re in the mood for a new puzzler, pick this one up.

Part of Inbento's appeal is the strong cat theme, which matched with cute puzzles to solve, makes it a good fit for the Nintendo Switch. The desire to find out what happens to the cat characters is motivation when facing a tough puzzle that seems unsolvable. The limited number of moves is not as limiting as it sounds because there is no limit to how many times the puzzle can be attempted, nor are there time limits, making it easy to dip in and out.

Don’t let the game’s pastel colors and cute bunnies fool you – inbento is not a children’s game and those who only occasional delve into the world of puzzle games may find the challenge to be too frustrating. If you enjoy logic puzzles and putting your spatial thinking skills to the test, though, you should definitely give inbento a try.

Small bugbear aside, inbento is so charming and simple that it is hard to put down once it gets going. It's a solid puzzle title that starts out super easy and accessible but ramps up far enough to challenge players who want more. It's a great little package full of heart that deserves a pickup from puzzle fans.

Lunchboxes are great. Mostly. One day you have a nice butty, maybe a cheesy dipping snack or a bag of crisps. The next day you crack open your box and your damn Capri Sun leaked all over the goods. inbento is a quaint puzzle game all about arranging your bento box and making sure it never disappoints. So, pay attention, keep it tidy and take your time, because no one wants a soggy lunch. Curiosity Filled The Cat Opting for a warm, gently muted colour palette and some lovely pictures of cats, inbento sets up a deceptively varied grid/block-based puzzler. The staple of many a bento box is a little bed of boiled rice, so it’s fitting that inbento’s opening stages are kept nice and simple.
