If you have any love for the original title, there’s enough new content here with the three additional characters that playing through it again will feel like a fresh experience. If you skipped out on the original release in 2008, or have only been exposed to the series from Ninja Theory’s DmC, then I think this release is doubly worth seeking out.

The game is as fun and challenging as it was back in the day, and the updates and additions are sweet enough to make even stingy DMC fans shell out. New fans shouldn't be discouraged, though; DMC4 can be a good jumping off point if playing through the entire series seems enticing.

Capcom has delivered yet another fantastic HD remake. While the company has said they have begun to focus more on these types of packages, it still makes me wish we would see more new entries in our beloved franchises.

Stylish action games have evolved a lot in recent years, and this release skillfully straddles the line between new and old. The extra characters offer more variety and versatility that any fan of the genre should appreciate. They don’t completely mask the other problems, but the inventive twists on the content ultimately outweigh the legacy complaints.

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition on XBox One is a thrilling experience from start to finish! 4.1 DMC is back! Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition (20.24GB) has received a transformation on the XBox One that boasts extraordinary 1080p graphics with a silky frame-rate of 60fps plus tweaked gameplay to make this a true next-gen console experience. Add new game modes, playable characters and streamlined controls and Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is easily worth the admission price, especially if you have not played this game before or even the series for that matter. Of course if you’re a DMC purist, the Legendary Dark Knight Mode may be right up your alley in terms of a challenge.
